WELCOME TO
VISIONARY HEALTH SERVICES

WHO WE ARE
Skłodowska Gang
We’re a young and talented group of students partaking in CBI (Challenge Based Innovation), where we work with CERN, one of the world’s leading research centres in particle physics, to make disruptive innovations for societal impact. We are the SkÅ‚odowska Gang, and we developed a solution to help the Serbian health system to support its population with Atherosclerosis (Plaque built up in coronary arteries).

WHAT IS VISIONARY HEALTH SERVICES?
Easy. Fast. Secure.
Most cardiovascular deaths worldwide are caused by Atherosclerosis, in which, for most people, the first and last symptom is death. Now imagine if you spot this silent killer before it becomes deadly! Most people who have Atherosclerosis don't even know they have it.
This is where VHS comes in. We have reimagined the CT scanner to make the silent killer visible finally. Our scanner is smaller, way cheaper and significantly more straightforward to use than a traditional CT scanner. Therefore we can instal them in smaller, more accessible points of care worldwide.

With our scanners, patients can enter our machines which rotate around them and produce an accurate image of their heart in 30 seconds. We can significantly simplify the mechanical design by focusing solely on the cardiac region. Using POSICS-2 technology, we can achieve the required sensitivity and slice count at a much lower cost.

All of this allows us to produce an accurate scan with shallow radiation doses, making it possible to screen patients' hearts on a large scale.

Issues in Serbia

44% of Serbian population is rural and lack access to healthcare

Many Serbians distrust the government health providers so are unlikely to visit them

Because of this they don’t receive the continuous treatment needed to treat heart diseases
The Service
With this revolutionary machine and comprehensive system, we can reduce the money the Serbian gov spends on diag. by 75%. This, along with our much-improved accessibility, will mean that most patients will be detected at an early stage, reducing the healthcare system's costs.
Statin therapy and lifestyle changes are much less expensive and less invasive treatments than surgery, and intensive care, which we project will save the Serbian government 27 million per year in healthcare spending.
But this doesn’t even begin to describe the positive impact on the quality of life felt by our friends and family in Serbia.
